Haklo Help

Haklo Plus

The optional subscription that adds AI coaching and AI-written summaries on top of everything Haklo already does for free.

Haklo Plus is the paid tier. It adds a layer of AI to the free Haklo experience — personalized coaching messages through the week, an AI-written summary of each gathering, and a few facilitator-only features that pull together what your family is going through.

The free Haklo stays free. Plus is what you add when you want the app to actively notice things and write back to you.

What you get with Plus

AI Coaching

A short, personal coaching message a few times a week, written by an AI coach that knows what your family talked about at the last gathering. Monday Kickoff, Midweek Check-in, Kindness Nudge, Meeting Prep, plus an automatic Post-Meeting message after each gathering. See the coaching page for the full picture of how this works and how privacy is handled.

AI-written gathering summaries

After each gathering, free families see the structured record of what each person shared — every entry, every priority, every kindness commitment. Plus families also see an AI-written summary that pulls themes together, names what's progressing, and flags anything left unresolved. The structured record is still there underneath; the summary is on top.

Family Pulse

A weekend read on how the family is doing, drawn from the last gathering, shown only to the facilitator (the parent who usually starts the gathering). It's a private weekly check-in for whoever is holding the family together — not a broadcast to the household.

Encourage Your Family

The Coaching tab includes a section that helps you reach out to specific family members between gatherings — the AI drafts a short, warm message for someone based on what they shared at the last gathering, you edit if you want, and send. The recipient sees it in their Encouragement You've Received section the next time they open the app. No notifications — same no-push pattern as Heard.

What stays free

Plus is genuinely additive. The free plan includes:

  • The weekly gathering — all four moments, no time limit
  • Heard — private one-line notes between family members
  • The structured record of every gathering you've ever had
  • The streak counter
  • Up to 8 family members in your family
  • Everything you've already built — your history doesn't go away if you don't subscribe

You can use Haklo as a family for years without ever paying. Plus is what you add when you want the AI layer specifically.

Pricing

Two options:

  • Monthly — $9.99/month
  • Annual — $79.99/year (about a third less than the monthly rate)

Both come with a 7-day free trial. You start the trial when you tap Subscribe in the app; nothing is charged for the first seven days. Cancel anytime during those seven days and you won't be charged.

One subscription covers your whole family — up to 8 members. There are no per-seat add-ons. If you subscribe, every adult and teen in your family with their own account gets Plus features at the same time.

Subscribing and managing your subscription

Where do I subscribe?

Inside the Haklo app. Open Settings or the Coaching tab, tap Learn about Plus, and follow the in-app flow. Your subscription is processed through your phone's app store — Apple App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android.

We don't take credit cards directly. Everything goes through your existing app-store account.

Where do I cancel or change my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through whichever app store you used to subscribe:

  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Haklo Plus
  • Android: Open Google Play → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Haklo Plus

In both stores you can switch between monthly and annual, cancel renewal, or reactivate after canceling. Apple and Google control this part of the experience — Haklo can't cancel or refund a subscription on your behalf.

What happens when I cancel?

You keep Plus until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that, the Coaching tab returns to the upgrade screen and gathering recaps go back to the structured-record-only format.

Your past coaching messages and AI summaries stay in the family record. They're not deleted when you stop subscribing — you just stop receiving new ones.

Restoring on a new device

If you subscribed on one device and signed into Haklo on another, tap Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen. The app store will check whether you're already subscribed under your account and restore Plus on the new device.

A few honest details

Children under 13

Children under 13 don't have their own Haklo accounts and never see the upgrade screen, the paywall, or any AI-coaching surface. Plus changes nothing for them.

Teens

Teens (13–17) on their own accounts see Plus features as a family-level state — when their parent subscribes, the family is on Plus and the teen's Coaching tab works. Teens never see the paywall themselves and can't subscribe on their own.

The AI provider

Coaching messages and summaries are generated by an AI model we call from our servers. Your family's data is sent to the model only for the moment of generation, and we do not authorize the model provider to train on Haklo content. The full position is in our privacy policy.
